SRINAGAR, Oct 31: Rajinder Singh, Abhishek Singh & Surya Bhanu Partap Singh cruised into quarter final rounds of the ongoing 31st Senior National Wushu Championship, organised by Wushu Associa-tion at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, here today.
J&K Wushu players cruised into the quarter final round. Haqeek Ahmad, Hashim Ahmad, Rajinder Singh, Ishant Singh and Surya Bhanu Pratap defeated opponents from other States and cruised into the next round.
Six events were organised on the 3rd day In Nanquan (Men) event, wherein SSCB won (Gold/Silver), Punjab secured Bronze medal, while in Nanquan (Women), Delhi won Gold, Manipur clinched Silver and CRPF won Bronze.
In Xingyiquan men event, ITBP (Gold), Odisha (Silver) and CRPF (Bronze), while in Baguazhang women event, Karnataka (Gold), Assam (Silver) and Bihar (Bronze) and in Daoshu men event, AIP secured Gold, SSCB won Silver and Madhya Pradesh clinched Bronze medal.
In Daoshu women, Arunachal Pradesh (Gold) and Manipur (Silver/Bronze), while in Taijijian men, SSCB (Gold/Silver), Assam (Bronze) and in Taijijian women, AIP won Gold and Arunachal Pradesh secured Silver/Bronze.
The chief guests of today’s presentation ceremony were Suhail Ahmad CEO Wushu Association of India, S.S Hari Chandan (President Odisha Wushu Association), Shambu Seth (Ex. Member WAI) and Mohd Islam-Ud-Din (Former Chief Coach Wushu of India), while Lt. Col. Vinceri Pattan and Kuldeep Handoo (Dronacharya Awardee) presented medals to the winners.
Second round of bouts of the final fight in Sanda (Men/Women) sections will be played tomorrow.
