JAMMU, Nov 1: An award presentation ceremony was conducted in connection to the multiple sports events, organised in observance of National Police Flag Day by the Police at District Police Line (DPL), here today.
The event was chaired by Vivek Gupta- DIG JKS Range, who was flanked by SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
Other officers/officials present in the event were Kulbir Singh- SSP CO IR, 18th Bn, Ramnish Gupta- SP Hqrs. Jammu, Kulbir Chand Handa, SP City North Jammu, Mamta Sharma- SP City South Jammu and KD Bhagat, DySP, DAR DPL Jammu and many other police officers/officials.
Several sports events were held from October 22 to 31 at DPL Jammu.The final matches of three events were played including two matches in Kabaddi in boys category.
The final was played between Girls Kabaddi team GDC Akhnoor and District Police Line Kabbadi team Jammu, which was won by the Girls Kabaddi teams GDC Akhnoor by 14 points (35-21).
The second final match was played between District Police Lines Jammu and Boys Kabaddi team GDC Akhnoor, which was won by the District Police Lines Jammu by 12 points (45-33) and the 3rd match was played in Volleyball between District Police Lines Jammu and KDK Volleyball Club Arnia, which was won by the District Police Lines Jammu by 2-1 sets.
All the winning teams were awarded and were encouraged to take part in more such events in future.
In the end, SSP Jammu congratulated all the winning teams and encouraged them to keep the spirit of sportsmanship alive in the common life as well.
