Shining Star wins 21st District Climbing C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 7: Shining Star High School Muthi emerged the Champion in the 21st edition of Jammu District Sport Climbing Championship by winning 6 medals including 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze in the two days competition which concluded, here today.
The budding climbers of the School swept all the medals in the junior boys. They also won Gold and Silver in the sub junior boys and Silver medal in the mini boys category.
The Shining Star High School was closely followed by St. Xavier Convent SSS, Barnai, which also won six medals including one Gold, one Silver and three Bronze. Other Gold medal winning institutes were the host Sprawling Buds ICSE School (1 Gold & 1 Silver); Government College for Women Parade (1Gold & 1 Silver); Oriental Academy (1 Gold & 1 Bronze) and Elite Public School Udheywala (1 Gold)
In mini girls: Deepika Sagotra, Sonakshi Singh and Jasneet Kour (all of St. Xavier Convent Barnai) won all three medals, while in mini boys: Chitesh Singh (Elite Public School), Udhay Singh (Shining Star Muthi) and Gagan Deep Singh (St. Xavier Convent Barnai) bagged top three medals respectively.
In sub jr. Girls: Prachi (Oriental Academy), Sania Sharma (Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi) and Shaweta (Oriental Academy) stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in junior boys, top three medals were won by Ankit Singh and Deepak Singh (Shining Star High School) & Sutikshan Partap Singh (Cambridge School Bhalwal), respectively.
In junior girls: Janvi Sharma and Mahima Sharma (Sprawling Buds ) and Tabia Choudhary (St. Xavier Convent Barnai) stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in junior boys: Sahil Kumar, Kashish and Gaurav (Shining Star Muthi) stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In men: Arun Deep Singh, Krishna Manhas and Rahul Singh stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in women, Shivani Charak & Shilpa Charak (Govt. College for Women, Parade) and Vishali Sharma of Patoli Brahmana remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the valedictory function Rahul Sharma, Chairman of Sprawling Buds was the chief guest who along with Arti Sharma, Principal of Apple Kids School, Bantalab and Seema Sharma, Director of Sprawling Buds School gave away medals to the winners of the various categories.
Prominent persons including Ram Khajuria, Sr. vice president, Shawetica Khajuria, general secretary, Sonam Sidharth and others were present during the event.
