Scouts & Guides celebrates ‘Foundation Day’

JAMMU, Nov 7: The J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides Jammu celebrated its ‘Foundation Day/Flag Day’, at State Headquarter, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
About 100 Scouts/Guides, Scouters/Guiders and heads of various institutions participated. Prof. Anupama Sharma was the chief guest, Principal APS Miran Sahib and Principal Jodhamal Public School were the guests of honour and MM Joshi, National Commissioner Headquarters was invited for the special programme.
The event was attended by Maitree Jain, State Commissioner (Guides), Usha Chunni, State Organizing Commissioner (G), HL Dogra, State Treasurer and RP Kotwal, STC.
MM Joshi welcomed all the dignitaries, the guests, and the scouts/guides and also gave a brief importance of this ‘Day’ as it is day of introspection for all connected with the movement. Some Scouts and Guides and Scouters/ Guiders also spoke on the importance of this auspicious day and it was followed by some cultural items pertaining to the occasion.
Dr Ram Memorial Awards were given away to the year’s best unit leaders including Mohd Amin Darzi, Masrofa, Ravinder Sadhu, Haroon Malik and Pratiba by the chief guest.
The dignitaries including RP Kotwal, AK Sharma, KL Sharma, Dr Inder Bhushan Mishra, Neelam Gupta, Manjeet Kour, Jyoti, Harvinder Kour, KL Gupta, Deepika, Kanchan Sharma, Krishna, Neelam, Dolly Chandok and Rita Sharma were present during the event.
The programme was conceived and conducted under the directions of Mtr Nasreen Khan. Maitree Jain, State Commissioner (Guides) presented the vote of thanks, while the programme was compared by Manjeet Kour, Harvinder Kour along with Scout and Guide.
