Shiv Lingam installed at Durga Nag temple

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Kashmiri Pandits today installed Shiv Lingam at Durga Nag temple premises here amidst chants of Vedic hymns.
“Shiv Abhishek (installation of Shiv Lingam) in the Holy spring of Durga Nag temple was performed as per the traditional Vedic rituals on the occasion of Ram Navmi and Dussehra,” Murarji Kaul a prominent social activist said.
He said below the main temple, the holy spring with original arcs, more than 700 years old, has been discovered recently by the devotees of Shree Mata Durga Nag Sewa Dal.
Kaul said the renovation work of the temple has been started recently.
Among others present were SK Ganjoo, Ravi Thusoo, Kuldeep Raina, volunteers of Seva Dal, Prof Satish Raina, President Valley Mandir Prabandak Committee, AK Deewani, Secretary Valley Mandir Prabandak Committee, JL Kaul President State Minority Forum and Vijay Kohli of Satan Dharam Pratap Sabha Kashmir.
