SRINAGAR, Nov 12: Iqbal Public High School (IPHS) Soura celebrated its 32nd Annual Day at Community Centre Ellahi-B, wherein SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Mattoo was the chief guest on this occasion, here today.

Former Director of Colleges, Professor G M Tibet Bakal was the guest of honour, while Professor Rashid Aziz of the Central University of Kashmir was present as the special guest.
The students showcase their talent through various cultural programs, the majority of which portrayed the Kashmiri culture, ethos and heritage. Many of these programs highlighted diverse social issues and problems being faced by our society.
The program commenced with the School anthem, written by the Late Professor Margoob Baanhali who had written it with his love for the Institution. Chairperson Rashid Ahmed welcomed the guests, while the Vice-Principal Fowkiya Farooq welcomed the guests in her keynote address. Participants, students and teachers were also felicitated.
The chief guest extended his heartfelt congratulations to the faculty, students and their parents for their relentless efforts and unwavering encouragement toward making his students explore their talents, while Professor G M Bakal spoke about the numbness our society has shown toward our heritage and culture that has plummeted our identity into a state of complete dismay and the prerequisite for its revivalism is the need to root for our indigenous culture, the way Iqbal Public School has.
