JAMMU, Nov 15: An awareness camp on Osteoporosis (a silent epidemic) was organized today at Government Ayurvedic College, Akhnoor.
The program was attended by more than 100 students besides Dr Narinder (Nodal Officer) and faculty members of the College including Dr Shailej Gupta, Dr Rajesh Sharma, Dr Dheeraj Khajuria and Dr Tanvi Singh.
During the camp, Dr Bias Dev (retired Associate Professor, Department of Orthopedics, GMC Jammu) discussed steps to be taken to prevent Osteoporosis with students and faculty of Govt Ayurvedic College Akhnoor after conducting their BMD test.
In the presentation to the students and faculty of the College, the role of Peak Bone Mass (PBM), was discussed with them. The students were called upon to adopt life style which helps them prevent osteoporosis in their later life.
