Vodafone, Traffic Police organise road show

Vodafone and Traffic Police spreading awareness on road safety rules in Jammu.

Jammu, Oct 15: Vodafone India, one of country’s leading Telecommunications service providers, today observed Road Safety Day in Jammu to create awareness about road safety rules amongst citizens.
It was a distinctive endeavour from Vodafone, to promote responsible mobility and connect with customers highlighting a strong social message. Vodafone partnered with Jammu Traffic Police to highlight importance of road safety and observing traffic rules.
Vodafone employees participated in a road safety march which started from its office in Channi till Gole Market, one of the busiest locations in the city. The road show started with a Car rally, with vehicles bearing road safety messages driving up till Gole Market. A road safety march was also undertaken from the Channi to Apsara Road. Vodafone employees spread the message on road safety through placards and distributed fliers with messages on safety rules to the locals. At Gole Market, the employees interacted with motorists and four wheeler drivers and educated them on the importance of road safety. Around 70 people from Vodafone and the Traffic Police Department participated in the event.
Speaking about the initiative, Asit Shekhar, Business Head – Punjab, HP & J&K, Vodafone India, said, “Vodafone India, as a value based organisation, is passionate about people and is committed to achieving the highest standards in health, safety and well-being for all our stakeholders and the environment that we operate in”.
Welcoming the initiative, S. A. Watali, DIG Traffic Police also supported the cause and participated in the initiative.
