Eid-Diwali Milan Cup from Oct 24

JAMMU, Oct 16: To be organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), Simula Software and Atman Educational Society, the Eid-Diwali Milan Cup will be held at MA Stadium, Jammu from October 24, 2013.
The objective of the tournament is to celebrate the duo festivals of Eid and Diwali together through the medium of sports, besides promoting sports culture in the State.
The participating teams included Simula Sports Club, RCC Srinagar, JKP XI, Delhi XI, Mumbai XI, Punjab XI, Christian Sports XI, Atman XI, Eleven Star XI, Chandigarh XI, Jammu Gymkhana XI, Gowahati XI, Challenger Cricket Club and Meghalaya XI.
According to the organizers, the basic idea of inviting other state teams is to provide platform to J&K cricketers to play with the players of other states and get proper exposure.
The Tournament will be organized on IPL pattern on league-cum-knockout basis.
The Organizing Committee includes Rajesh Kumar IGP, Jammu as chairman; Hilal Rather, M D Simula Group of Companies, president; Sanjay Mahajan, M D Atman Educational Society, general secretary; RK Bhat, Principal PTS Kathua, technical committee chief, Ramesh Angral, SO to IGP Jammu, chief of all arrangement committee; Rajesh Dhar, joint secretary and Rajesh Gill, former Ranji trophy player and Assistant Principal PTS Kathua, organizing secretary.
Meanwhile, organizing secretary Mr Gill informed that Simula Sports Club, JKP XI, Christian Sports XI and Jammu Gymkhana will play their first league matches on the opening day, wherein IGP Jammu, Rajesh Kumar will be the chief guest in the inaugural ceremony.
