Punjab wrestler Kamal lifts 11th Domana Kesari title

Wrestlers being felicitated by the dignitaries in Jammu on Wednesday.

JAMMU, Oct 16: The “11th Annual Domana Kesari Vishal Dangal 2013” was organized by management committee of Baba Shah Wrestling Akhara Domana (Jammu) in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Domana, here today.
The event was held under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Sarpanch Shamsher Singh and Naib Sarpanch Raj Hussain.
Wrestler Kamal of Jallandhar in Punjab clinched the title by defeating wrestler Navneet of Patiala in Punjab in the first malli bout which lasted for 9 minutes. Kamal was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 18,000, while runners-up wrestler Navneet was awarded with Rs 13,000.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, who is also treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association, was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runner- up wrestlers. Shamsher Singh presided over the function, while retired SP and treasurer J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, P R Sharma was the guest of honour.
Sarpanch, Mumtaj Khan, Dalbir Singh, Rehmat Ali and Babishan Singh also attended the function.
In all, 105 bouts were played in a day long dangal.
