JAMMU, Nov 24: Cambridge International School Purkhoo Camp celebrated its 2nd ‘Annual Day’ at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, today, wherein the students were in festive look with colourful dresses from Nursery to 10th standard.
JMC Mayor Rajinder Sharma graced the occasion as chief guest, while Baldev Singh Billawaria, Deputy Mayor, was the guest of honour. Devinder Singh Manhas and DEPO, Rupinder Kour, BDO Akhnoor were the special guests, while Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal, vice chairman, CIS also graced the occasion.
The lighting of the lamp was done by the chief guest, guest of honour, chairman of CIS Viddhi S Singh, Managing Director Renu Bangroo and Principal of the School.
The welcome address was given by the Managing Director of School and the anchoring was carried out by Niyati Mahajan, Nirupama Jamwal and Suneedhi Sharma. The Programme started with a breathtaking dance ‘Shiv Tandava’ by beautifully dressed students to invoke Lord Shiva.
The School report was presented by Principal Birendra Prasad followed by a mash-up performed by the School Choir.
A musical theatre production – ‘Alibaba & 40 Thieves’ was showcased by the students, while Kindergarten children presented a beautiful JIVE dance and the Hip Hop dance and the audience was spell bound to see the Spanish dance and Hindi play-‘Veer Abhimanyu’.
The academic toppers of the previous session were given the prizes during the prize distribution including Anmol Chhibber, Hitaen Bhat, Sutikshan Pratap, Ranveer Jamwal, Pragya Sharma, Tanishq Pandita, Uzair Javed Makhdoomi, Makshi Bhat and Aakriti Slathia were awarded for their special achievements in different sports and art activities.
The chief guest applauded the children for their beautiful presentation either in the form of dance or act. He said that each and every child is unique with some attributes or the other. It is we, who have to hone their talent by motivating them.
The whole show, costume designs, make up, designing of the function, was directed by Theatre Director Pratyush Toor from Delhi, while the dances were choreographed by Sam, Jeet and Mohit.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Vice Principal Rajni Malhotra and the program concluded with the National Anthem.
