JAMMU, Oct 17: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma inspected the various ongoing developmental works being executed under different schemes in Akhnoor block here today.
He also took a detailed review of the ongoing flood protection works at Chanjawan, Vyas Chack, Sheetri Wala, Chak Sikander and Indri and directed the officers of Flood Control Department to gear up their field functionaries for timely completion of the protection works to.
Sharma stressed that Government is committed to provide better facilities and services to the people and asked the concerned executing agencies to ensure that the developmental projects are completed within stipulated time frame with strict adherence to the quality norms.
Minister also visited Government Medical College and Hospital and enquired about the welfare of those injured in cross border firing at Najwal in Pargwal Akhnoor. He interacted with the patients and their attendants and assured them all necessary assistance from the Government. He issued necessary instructions to the GMC authorities for providing best possible medicare to the patients.
Sham also condemned such incidents of firing which is causing loss of life and property of innocent people.
