JAMMU, Nov 25: The 9th Annual Day cum prize distribution ceremony of RM Public School (RMPS) ‘One World One Dream’ was organised at Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here today.
Chief guest of the event was Amit Sharma, Secretary Mining Department (J&K), while special guests were Col. Anil Pandit, Gulshan Kumar District Mining Officer (Jammu), Suraj Singh Rathore Chief Education Officer (Jammu) and SP Varma, Padamshree Awardee was the guest of honour.
Chairman Rameshwar Mengi, Trustee Rita Mengi, Director Pushp Vatika Risheek Mengi and eminent guests from sister concern were present during the event and motivated the students with their presence along with parents.
Vice Principal, Dr Harvinder Kour along with administrator Suriender Singh extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries. Talking of the theme of the cultural items, she (Dr Kour) expressed that female foeticide was the greatest menace of the present century. A tribute was also paid to former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam to celebrate his achievements in the society by depicting through a blend of drama and dance.
Chief guest Amit Sharma was all praise for the show. The event witnessed the inauguration of School magazine “Dishari’. The chief guest congratulated the School for taking such an edifying topic which requires a quick moral action on everybody’s part.
The annual prize distribution function was a moment of pride and honour for all the winners and achievers of the School. The prizes were awarded to students who excelled in the academic as well as co-curricular activities. The function included ‘VaishnoVandana’, an orchestra by the students and folk dances from various States were presented by the students depicting ‘Colours of India’.
Director Rakshan Mengi extended a warm gratitude to the dignitaries and the parents and appreciated the endeavour of students and staff for making the event a success. The Vice Principal read out the annual report and achievements of the School.
