LEH, Nov 26: The two-day Inter-department Table Tennis Tournament, organised by the Department of Physical Education, University of Ladakh concluded today. Ten departments of the Leh Campus, University of Ladakh participated in Men’s Single, Women’s single and mixed double events.
On the concluding day, the final matches were played in which, Villayat Ali of Zoology department emerged victorious in the Men’s single category by defeating Singhey Namgyal of Physical Education department by 2-1 sets. Similarly, in the Women’s Single category Fatima Souqra of MTTM department defeated Ruba Banoo of Mathematics department by 2-0 sets.
Whereas, in the Mixed double category, TTM department defeated the Mathematics department by 2-1 sets.
Villayat Ali of Zoology department (Men’s category) and Fatima Souqra of MTTM department (Women’s Category) were awarded the best players of the tournament.
Vice Chancellor, UoL, Prof S K Mehta distributed prizes to the winners and runner up teams.
The tournament was organised under the guidance of Dean Students Welfare, University of Ladakh Dr Jigmat Dachen.
