JAMMU, Nov 30: A delegation of PSC Lecturers’ Association Jammu led by its president Manjeet Chib met Principal Secretary Alok Kumar at Civil Secretariat Jammu and raised the core issues of Plus 2 cadre.
The delegation sought personal intervention of Principal Secretary and urged him to address the long pending demand of non functional/time bound promotion. The delegation apprised Principal Secretary of the core issues of Plus 2 cadre and gave him a detailed feedback regarding the overall educational scenario of J&K.
Manjeet Chib informed the Principal Secretary that the Association has already submitted a proposal in this regard. He said that there is no provision of TBP/NFP for Plus 2 lecturers which is a matter of concern and needs to be addressed on priority basis.
The delegation also discussed the current status of the proposal of amendments of service recruitment rules. The Principal Secretary passed on spot instructions and assured that +2 lecturers as important stakeholders would be invited in the next meeting so that necessary clause/provisions may be incorporated in service recruitment rules for the larger interest of the community.
The issue of repatriation/transfer of 2015 batch lecturers who have been serving in far flung remote areas for last so many years, was also taken up with Principal Secretary. The other demands/issues discussed are implementation of Government Order Number 743 in letter and spirit, regularization of +2 lecturers, refresher courses for those masters/teachers to be placed as I/c lecturers, entertaining genuine degrees for promotion, enhancement of grade pay of +2 Principals and placement of lecturers as senior lecturers.
Special Secretary Naseer Ahmed Wani was also present in the meeting. Manjeet Chib was accompanied by Sandeep Sharma (chief coordinator of the Association) and Sanjeev Gupta (chief organizer).
