GDC Billawar organizes workshop on latest trends in Physics

JAMMU, Oct 19: Government Degree College, Billawar organized one day Physics workshop on “Recent Trends and Development in Physics”.
On the occasion, Prof PN Kotru was the chief guest and Prof Baba VKS Potukuchi was the guest of honour.
Principal Dr BL Gupta presented the welcome address.
The workshop was divided into two sessions-the first included the presentations by the learned guests while the second comprised the power point presentations by the students on various topics.
Prof Baba VKS Potukuchi through his presentation on the topic “Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) and God Particle: Importance and Discovery” simplified the complex theories of Big Bang and Higgs Boson Particle (also known as GOD PARTICLE). He threw light on the various forces in the nature and the possibility of their unified theory which can revolutionize the modern physics.
In the second session, 8 students presented their power point presentations on various relevant topics.
Prof PN Kotru and Prof Baba VKS Potukuchi adjudged their performances and declared Rajat Gupta, Ajay Lakyal and Manisha Bhadwal as first, second and third rankers respectively.
The three position holders were given mementoes while the other participants were given consolation prizes.
