REASI, Oct 19: DIET, Reasi organized Art Mela 2013 under RMSA at Reasi, wherein schools from different zones of the district participated and exhibited art and craft.
These exhibits prepared by the young students at secondary level displayed varied forms of local art and culture, which was widely appreciated.
Earlier, Principal DIET, Reasi, Darshan Lal, in his welcome address highlighted the role of art and culture in education and appreciated the skills put in by the participating students in preparing these exhibits.
Adjudicators of the event included OP Bhagat, Field Advisor, SIE, Jammu, Ved Parkash renowned art teacher and Karnail Singh from Handicraft Department, Reasi.
HSS Katra, HS(G) Pouni, HS Sersundwan, HS Kanjli and HSS Salal fetched the best five positions of the event.
A cash prize of Rs 1000 was given to each winner.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included ZEO Reasi, Channe Ram, RC Sharma, Senior Lecturer KC Sharma, Lecturer and Virender Dutta, Lecturer.
Jaswinder Kour, Lecturer conducted the proceedings of the programme.
