BARAMULLA, Dec 7: Secretary Planning Development and Monitoring Department, Dr Raghav Langer, who is on 3 day tour to Baramulla district, today visited Salamabad Uri to review development projects besides assessing public grievances.
Secretary was accompanied by SDM Uri, Jatin Kishore, Joint Director Planning, M Yousuf Rather, DSO, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan and other concerned officers.
Secretary laid foundation stone for construction of Tehsil Office at Uri under Samridhi Seema Yojana.
He also held a Gram Sabha at Salamabad Panchayat wherein Sarpanchs, Panchs, officials of line departments besides a huge gathering of people enthusiastically participated.
On the occasion, the functionaries of Panchayat Raj, PRIs, frontline workers and local youth discussed various issues of public importance including cleanliness, sanitation, augmentation of water supply, enhanced health facilities, better education and other development needs.
Secretary asked the officers to prepare Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) as per the needs of people of the village.
Dr Raghav Langer documented all the grievances projected during the Gram Sabha and assured them of an early redressal of their issues.
Meanwhile, the people were also sensitized about scores of welfare schemes and programmes being implemented in the district.
