BISHNAH, Oct 21: NSS Unit of GDC Bishnah in collaboration with University of Jammu organized a Poster Making Contest on the topic “Role of NSS Volunteers in the Eradication of Child Labour” as part of the activities of 10-days NSS Camp for 64 Volunteers under the Convenership of Prof Sunita Gupta, under the supervision of Dr Savtanter Kour, NSS Programme Officer. Prof Kalpana Kesar, Principal of the College was the chief guest on the occasion, while the proceedings of the programme were initiated by Dr Savtanter Kour.
An extension lecture on the topic “Crime Against Women” was also delivered by Dr Alka Sharma, HoD Education on the occasion. She highlighted the various problems faced by the women in society and stressed the eradication of these problems through Volunteers in the society.
Nidhu Kaith and Archana of BA Part-I and Pooja Manhas of BA Part-III were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while Pooja Devi, Monika Kaith and Jasmeet of BA Part-II got consolation prizes by the panel of judges comprising of Dr Alka Sharma, Prof Sunita Gupta and Prof Preeti Dogra.
Among others present on the occasion were Prof Hardeep Kour, Prof Archana Bakshi, Dr Seema Jamwal, Dr Renu Gupta, Anshu Andotra, Sapna Sharma and Mohd Naseer.
