When it comes to streaming your favourite shows and new movie releases of 2022, both free and paid options are out there. But with so many choices, how can you tell which service is right for you? Fortunately, I’ve done the research on what I consider to be some of the best premium movie streaming services, so you don’t have to. This article will give you all the details on each service and help you figure out which one(s) might be right for your particular needs.

HBO Max

In early 2019, it was announced that HBO would be launching a new streaming service in conjunction with Disney, called HBO Max. This service will come with movies from Disney and Pixar, as well as an exclusive series from the director of Game of Thrones. Other premium movie streaming services include Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and Hotstar.

Showtime

At the top of our list is Showtime, which offers a pretty decent selection of movies and TV shows. You’ll be able to find most mainstream films in the store, but you may have to search for some more niche titles. The service also offers Live TV streaming with Showtime, which makes it perfect for sports fans or those who like their sitcoms and dramas live.

Starz

The Starz app is a premium streaming service that offers more than just movies and TV shows. Starz offers some of the newest TV series before they hit the big time and has a new movie premiering every Friday. If you have trouble getting your hands on tickets, there are a number of movie theatres across the US where you can watch them live, or enjoy movie premieres at home.

Acorn TV

Acorn TV offers TV shows and movies that are only available in the UK. As of now, the service is only available on Apple devices, but will eventually be made available on other platforms as well. Other perks? All episodes are released at once and you get access to their archives.

Britbox

What’s the best way to watch your favourite movies? At home. There are plenty of premium movie streaming services that allow you to do just that, but the following nine are the ones worth checking out. I won’t list them in any order because they each have their own perks and benefits.

Sundance Now

In addition, the site offers original programming including its newest series, The Writers’ Room. Viewers are granted access to ad-free content and can stream movies or TV shows anywhere, anytime.

CuriosityStream

What sets CuriosityStream apart from these streaming giants is its focus on educational programming. Much like how PBS provides educational content for free, CuriosityStream offers its subscribers quality documentaries for a small subscription fee.
