JAMMU, Oct 21: Jammu District Judo Championship organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Judo Association, under the auspices of J&K State Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association got underway at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, today.
Kiran Wattal, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation was the chief guest on the inaugural function and declared the Championship open, while MLA Rachpal Singh was the guest of honour.
RC Thakur, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Ashutosh Sharma, Dr Nirmolak Singh, Vijay Gupta, Sidharth Sharma, Suraj Sharma, Yashudev Singh and Rohit Gupta were present on the occasion.
The Championship is being held under the technical guidance of Suraj Bhan Singh and Vikas Dogra and the matches were officiated by Arshi Nad, Ritika Salathia, Bhanu Pratap, Shweta Thakur, Aman Gupta, Rajesh Verma, Rajesh Sumbria, Komal Gupta, Menakshi, Akhil and Rajeev Sharma.
Rameshwar Singh Jamwal is the organizing secretary of the Championship, while the Championship is being held under the chairmanship of Vikas Gupta, secretary, J&K Judo Association.
