JAMMU, Dec 14: Valley View Army Public School Rajouri celebrated its 12th Annual Sports Day with great zeal, enthusiasm and spirited atmosphere after a gap of two years.
The children actively took part in all the events, while teachers and staff stood together to boost self confidence among the children during the sports event.
The occasion was graced by senior Army Officers Brig Commander NV Nanjundeshwara and dignitaries from the Rajouri town, which began with lighting of the torch followed by a march past by the three houses of the School.
Dressed in colourful sportswear, the students shared utmost sportsman spirit. The students from nursery to fifth classes participated in various races including sack race, relay race, lemon and spoon race, three leg race and balloon race, while the needle and thread race for parents was the star attraction. Teachers also participated in the sprint race with full energy.
The chief guest encouraged all the children to participate in the games and sports activities and live a healthy life and asked the parents to support their child in pursuing sports as a career. The winners of various competitions were felicitated by the chief guest.
