Int’l Delphic Council celebrates 28th founding anniversary

JAMMU, Dec 15: International Delphic Council of J&K celebrated its 28th founding anniversary at Kala Kendra,  here today.
Sham Lal Sharma, former Minister was the chief guest on the occasion, whereas Kulbir Handa-SSP, Jammu city and Dr Ajay Singh, Professor-Central University, Jammu were the guests of honour.
A painting exhibition was also organised, wherein 120 artists across the UT participated. The event was organised with the collaboration of Leela Art Gallery under the supervision of Vinod Kumar Verma, an internationally renowned painter from Jammu.
A cultural programme was staged by young artists namely Aakashavi Singh, Sukriti Sharma, Abhinav Kesar. Ravi Kumar Sapolia recited a Dogri poem, Asha Kesar sung ‘Pakh’, while Jammu girls performed Dogri folk dance- ‘Jagarna’.
Dr Ajay Singh thanked Ashok Singh for organising such good events to involve the youth of the UT.
Ashok Singh, president of the Delphic Council of Jammu and Kashmir elaborated that the Delphic Council is an international organisation actively working in more than 70 countries and is now also gaining its momentum in the UT.
The chief guest requested the president of the Council to take the movement to the rural areas so that maximum youth can benefit from the Delphic movement and their involvement in artistic activities can be increased. The former Minister also stressed that such events should be organised in regular intervals so that the youth is galvanized into the artistic areas.
Dr Gharo Choudhary moderated the event and Dr Sushma Rajput presented the vote of thanks on the occasion.
