Manoj, Sarthak steal show as Bhaderkali Club registers super over win

JAMMU, Dec 16: Manoj Bhat and Sarthak Peshin stole the show as Bhaderkali Cricket Club registered a super-over victory over APCC, while Ace Cricket Club defeated Sai Cricket Club by 41 runs in the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Premier League (KPPL) Edition-III, being organised by Lalitaditya Education, Sports and Health Organisation, under the patronage of its President, Anil Bhat and overall supervision of Ankur Bagati and Ashish Kachroo at KC Sports Club ground, here today.
In the first match played today, Bhaderkali Cricket Club got the better of APCC in a thrilling contest via super-over when both the teams scored 185 runs in the stipulated 20 overs and the match tied.
Batting first, Alpha Productions Cricket Club (APCC) scored 185 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Sarthak Peshin played power-packed innings of 81 runs off 38 balls, studded with 6 fours and 7 sixes.
For Bhaderkali CC, Somil Raina took 2 wickets, while Rahul K and Vinod Ji claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Bhaderkali CC also scored 185 runs in 20 overs, thus the match resulted in a tie. Manoj Bhat top scored with 83 runs off 63 balls, studded with 5 fours and 4 sixes, while Rounak contributed 67 runs off 53 balls with 7 boundaries and 3 sixes.
In super-over Bhaderkali CC scored 13 runs while APCC could make only 7 runs.
In another match, Ace Cricket Club got the better of Sai Cricket Club in an easy contest by 41 runs.
Batting first, Ace Cricket Club scored a good total of 154 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Mohit Koul, Hritik Bhat and Aneesh Tickoo 34, 33 and 29 runs to the total respectively. Surinder Bhat took 3 wickets for Sai Cricket Club.
In reply, Sai Cricket Club bundled out for 113 runs, thus lost the match by 41 runs.
For Ace Cricket Club, Suraj Koul took 3 wickets, while Rohit Koul claimed 2 wickets.
Rahul Sahai, Chairman, PHDCCI Jammu Chapter was the chief guest in post match presentation, who alongwith Rajeev Pandita honoured man of the match awardees.
