Drug peddler held with 36 kg of charas

JAMMU, Dec 16: Jammu Police has arrested a drug peddler with 36 kg of Charas under the jurisdiction of Police Station Nagrota.
Giving details of arrest and recovery, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli said that a naka was established near Ban Toll Plaza by a team of Police Station Nagrota led by SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar along with SHO Nagrota Inspector Vishav Partap Singh in the area under their jurisdiction.
He further added that a suspected person who was on his truck bearing registration number PB10CZ-4214 was rounded up and questioned about his movement as his truck was almost empty. “The truck driver could not give any satisfactory answer and during thorough search, 36 packets (of 1 kg each) of Charas were recovered from the toolbox of the truck,” the officer said.
The SSP said a case FIR Number 423/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Nagrota and the accused identified as Mohan Singh son of Ujjagar Singh, resident of Manakpur (Patiala, Punjab) was arrested.
The arrest and recovery was made under the overall supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
