Police rescues 16 bovines, arrests 2 smugglers

SAMBA, Dec 18: District Police Samba has foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 16 animals and arrested two smugglers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal today.
A police party of PS Ghagwal near Naka NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number JK02AQ/2395 for checking today.
After checking the vehicle, 16 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission and were tied in a cruel manner.
The accused driver identified as Rinku Kumar, son of Darshan Lal of Bari-Brahmana along with his associate namely Ravi Kumar, son of Shanker Dass of NeliNalla, Udhampur have been arrested and the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 177/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Ghagwal.
All the bovines in the above mentioned case were rescued and shifted to a safer place.
