Woman knocked to death by train, 2 killed in separate road mishaps

JAMMU, Dec 18: A woman was today knocked to death by a train in Channi area while two persons were killed in separate road accidents in city outskirts.
According to the reports, a 22-year-old woman identified as Usha Sidar wife of Paras Ram, resident of Chattisgarh (at present Channi Himmat, Jammu) was hit and killed on the spot by a fast moving train, in the wee hours of today when she was crossing the railway track at 93.17 km near Channi Fatak. Police Station GRP Jammu had registered a case in this connection and started investigation while body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico legal formalities.
Meanwhile, an unknown bike driven in a rash and negligent manner by an unknown rider hit another bike bearing registration number JK02BX-9950 near Deoli (Bishnah), this evening. In the mishap, pillion rider of bike bearing registration number JK02BX9950 died on the spot. The body of the deceased identified as Gurjeet Kour (60) wife of Surat Singh, resident of Khour (Miran Sahib), was sent for postmortem while Bishnah Police had registered a case FIR Number 218/2022 U/S 279/304-A IPC in this connection and started investigation.
Another mishap occurred this evening at Nardani in the jurisdiction of Police Post Chinore, where a Swift car being run in a rash and negligent manner by Ankush Sharma (25) son of Ashok Kumar of Purkhoo Camp, plunged into a roadside pond while negotiating a curve. Locals rushed to the spot and fished out the driver of the vehicle as well as his accomplice namely Prabhat Vasu of Poonch House (Talab Tillo) from the pond.
Both the victims were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Ankush was declared as brought dead by the doctors while the condition of the Prabhat Vasu was stated to be stable when the last reports came in. A case in this connection was registered in Police Station Domana and further investigation initiated.
