SAMBA, Dec 24: District Wushu Championship, organised by District Wushu Association, commenced at Panchayat Ghar Kartholi in Bari Brahmana, here.
Around 415 players from different clubs and schools are participating in the championship.
Former Minister, Chander Prakash Ganga was the chief guest on the occasion. He congratulated the District Association for providing a platform to the youth, so that they can exhibit their skills. He also applauded the Association for producing so many international and national players and said that Rajinder Singh-is an icon of the District Samba.
He assured that he will take up the issue with J&K Sports Council for the establishment of Wushu Academy in the district. The Wushu demonstrations in both Sanda and Taolu were exhibited during the inaugural ceremony.
The general secretary presented the vote of thanks and briefed the guests about the achievements of Wushu in district Samba.
