JAMMU, Dec 24: KC Gurukul Public School celebrated Annual Day with fervor, enthusiasm and spirit, here today.
Mayor, Rajinder Sharma was the chief guest, while Dr Raghav Langar, Secretary to Govt, Planning, Development and Monitoring was the guest of honour of the function.
The students presented a colourful cultural bonanza ‘Jashan-i-Bachpan’ which took everyone to his own childhood with a message that since childhood is the best part of life, reliving it, would never make them old.
The action-packed program had elements of Hindu culture like opera portraying four ‘Yug’ of Vedic era, and rhythmic Yoga. The program also depicted cultural diversities of India portraying Gujarat’s Dandiya by tiny tots, Punjab’s Bhangra, Rajasthan’s Ghoomar and Bundelkhand’s opera on ‘Khoob Ladi Mardani Woh To Jhansi Wali Rani Thee’.
The Mayor lauded the efforts of the students in presenting the true spirit of Indian culture and said that youth have a special role in cleansing the society of corruption. He also stressed the need for reviving a value-based society.
Dr Langar also complimented the School for putting up such a wonderful cultural program which rightly took us to our childhood. He advised students to work hard and excel in all fields, saying that everything is achievable.
Academic Director of the School, Anu Jandial welcomed the dignitaries and guests and explained the theme of the program. School coordinator Seema Gondi presented the annual report, while the Chairman, Arvind Mahajan presented the mementos to Mayor Rajinder Sharma and Dr. Raghav Langar.
Kanta Mahajan, Sanjeeta Mahajan, Arun Mahajan, Anil Mahajan and Arush Choudhary were present during the event.
