POONCH, Dec 25: District Poonch Chess Championship concluded at HS Mangnar, organised by District Association under the aegis of All J&K Chess Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council, here today.
Jatinder Singh Tandon (I/C ZPEO Kanuyian) was the chief guest, while Satish Kumar was the guest of honour and Balvinder Singh and Suresh Kumar were the special guests) along with Sunny Tandon, Ruchika Rasyal, Jaspreet Kour and Sonia Dutta.
The chief guest appreciated the District Chess Association for popularizing the game in the district and wished them good luck for future and ensured all possible support from his department.
In under-19 boys, Lakshya Veer Sasan- 1st and Dhruv Sharma-2nd, while in U/17, Daksh Sudan and Suryansh Raina remained 1st and 2nd respectively and in U/19 girls, Rahini Dutta-1st and Asha Bano-2nd.
In U/17 girls, Pavani Dutta and Rukhsar claimed 1st and 2nd positions respectively. Sumeet Sharma was the organising secretary of the championship, while Vikas Sharma was convenor.
