Jammu, Dec 26:

Threatening to intensify their ongoing agitation, the Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers today appealed the Jammu and Kashmir administration to fulfil the promises made to them.
Hundreds of Rehbar-e-Khel teachers today continued their protest for the seventh consecutive day outside BJP Headquarter under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar -e-Khel Teachers Association.
Led by Association President Dheeraj Salaria, the Rehbar-e-Khel teachers staged a protest claiming to remind the administration of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s promises, which he committed with their delegation at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar on May 29, 2022.
“The BJP president Ravinder Raina also framed a committee to resolve our issues but the committee has not yet submitted its final report and if our legitimate demands are not fulfilled, we will intensify protests,” said Salaria.
He added that the LG administration has recently proposed to de-freeze the posts which were frozen for Rehber-e-Khel teachers in the policy approved by the Cabinet, adding, “the former LG, G C Murmu formed a committee to find a way to ease the sufferings of Rehber-e-Khel teachers (reduce probation period from 7 years to 5 years as per ReT pattern and enhancement in salary) as it was technically next to impossible to survive on a meagre amount of Rs 3000 per month.”
However, he said in a recent proposal given by the committee, they have proposed to send the vacant posts to recruiting agencies.
The LG administration has directed the department to implement the order which was proposed by the committee which is against the policy and cabinet order of Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers.
“We perform duties with enthusiasm, but the present Government denies justice to us,” he added and said as per the policy the available vacancies of PET’s will be kept reserved for Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers but the Govt is going to de-freeze the frozen posts, which is totally injustice with them.
“We demand immediate cancellation of order (GAD-/1/2021-02(13125) and minimization of probation period from 7 years to 5 years on RET pattern,” the protestors said, stating that if the demands are not redressed soon, they will march towards Delhi. (UNI)
