JAMMU, Dec 27: Five prominent fencers from Jammu and Kashmir have been selected for Junior Sabre World Cup to be held at Budapest, Hungary with effect from 7th to 8th January, 2023.
Fencers include Mayank Sharma, Lakshya Sharma and Suryansh Sharma in Boys section, and Shreya Gupta and Kritarthi Kotwal in Girls category. All the fencers have been selected on the basis of their outstanding performances in 30th Junior National Fencing Championship held at Cuttack, Odisha. It is pertinent to mention here that Shreya Gupta, Ace Sabre Fencer has already undergone training at Hungary under TOPS Scheme of the Government of India.
Worthwhile to mention here that all the fencers are trained by Shotu Lal Sharma, Fencing Instructor, J&K Sports Council and Ujjwal Gupta, former International Fencer.
