Police arrests 2 drug peddlers, seizes 7 grams of heroin

SAMBA, Dec 27: Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, has arrested two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari-Brahmana and recovered approximately seven grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance along with cash from their possession.
A police party of PS Bari Brahmana headed by SI Balbir Singh under the supervision of SHO, , Inspector, Sunil Kumar Sharma and Mohammad Usman, DySP Headquarters Samba, (Additional charge of SDPO Bari-Brahmana) during patrolling near Haldiram Factory, Balole Nalah, Bari Brahmana intercepted two persons moving under suspicious circumstances.
During their frisking by the police party, approximately seven grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance along with cash was recovered from their possession.
The accused persons identified as Surmun, son of Choudhary Nawab Deen of Kothey Chorli, tehsil Bishnah at present Bari Brahmana and Avinash Menia, son of RomeshLal of Channi Himmat Jammu have been arrested on the spot and the contraband material along with cash was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 240/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari-Brahmana. Further investigation started.
