POONCH, Dec 30: In an online application fraud, scores of people in Poonch district have been purportedly duped of their hard earned money.
According to the victims, who belong to different areas in the district, they had invested lakhs of rupees in an online application NBERMAN, which had assured them several times more return on their investment.
While elaborating, they said that this application initially provided them good return on their investment in different cycles of period ranging from a few days to weeks. As people started trusting on the application, it announced 600 percent return on their investment in ten days following which more persons invested huge amount, which is likely to be in crores.
However, the application suddenly stopped functioning on December 25 when it was supposed to return 600 percent of the sum invested by the people and hence crores of rupees were duped through this online fraud.
When contacted, SSP Poonch Rohit Basgotra told the Excelsior that no such formal complaint of fraud has been received so far. “If any person has been duped of his hard earned money, he should bring the matter into notice of Police so that necessary action may be taken,” he added.
