KULGAM, Jan 1: The District Kulgam Chess Championship, organized by District Association for senior, junior, sub junior for both boys and girls in collaboration with All J&K Chess Association and under the aegis of J&K Sports Council, concluded at New ERA Day Boarding School Korel, here today.
About 50 players including boys and girls participated in the championship, wherein Gh Hassan District Sports Officer Kulgam Youth Service & Sports was the chief guest on closing ceremony, while Munawar Ahmad Malik, chairman New ERA Day Boarding School and Mohammad Amin Malik Principal New ERA Day Boarding School were the guests of honour.
They distributed prizes among winners wherein Sahil Rashid got 1st position and Shahid Yaseen won 2nd position in senior category, while in under sub junior category, Arif Manzoor stood 1st, Suhaib Ahmad remained 2nd and in under 13 category, Asmar Naik got 1st position, Manzoor Ahmad won 2nd position, besides in under 11 category, Suraid Mehraj clinched 1st position, Yasir Amin won 2nd position and in under girls category, Zaira Riyaz stood 1st and 2nd position was scored by Aleena Riyaz.
