JAMMU, Oct 26: Trikuta Nagar police today arrested five gamblers and recovered Rs 15,000 stake money from their possession.
A police spokesman said that, on specific information, police party from Trikuta Nagar Police Station led by SHO Chanchal Singh conducted raid near Railway Station Jammu and apprehended five gamblers.
The gamblers have been identified as Anil Sharma, son of Bal Krishan Sharma of Railway Colony, Sanjeev Kumar, son of Ram Lubaya of Sanjay Nagar, Rajeev Kumar, son of Parmanand Sharma of Pathankote, Khayati Lal, son of Sardari Lal of Railway West Colony and Vivek Mahajan, son of Krishan Dev of Trikuta Nagar.
“Rs 15,000 bet money and play cards were also recovered from the spot”, he added.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered at Trikuta Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
