Court rejects bail plea of 2 rapists

JAMMU, Oct 26: Presiding Officer Fast Track Court, Sanjeev Gupta today rejected the bail application of Naresh Kumar and Rakesh Kumar, both residents of village Barn, who were allegedly involved in a rape case.
According to the police case, on the day of occurrence prosecutrix was going to her home when both the accused dragged her in a field where she was raped by both of them by intimidating her with a Toka.
On the complaint of prosecutrix, a case was registered at Gharota Police Station and accused were arrested on September 9, 2013.
After hearing APP GS Charak for the State, Presiding Officer Fast Track Court observed, “rape offence needs to be viewed seriously. It is considered as grave offences affecting the society as a whole and thereby posing serious threat to the public sentiments”.
“There is a prima-facie case against the petitioners with regard to the commission of gang rape with the prosecutrix”, the court said while dismissing the bail application of both the accused.
