JAMMU, Jan 4: Scripting history two boxers from Jammu and Kashmir have sailed into the semifinals of the ongoing National Boxing Championship at Hisar in Haryana.
The boxers including Chander Dev Singh (75 to 80 kg) and Aarif Wani (48 to 50 kg) have reached the semifinal round of the national championship underway at Hisar from December 31 and will conclude on January 6.
Aarif Wani defeated Mohit Singh of Maharashtra (5-0) and Chander Dev Singh defeated Suraj Chand of Uttarakhand (5-3).
These boxers were trained by senior coach Anil Wadhera of J&K Sports Council at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu.
