Academy organizes seminar on Faiz Inqulab

RAJOURI, Oct 27: Paying tribute to great poet, social worker and freedom fighter Faiz Hussain Inqulab, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organized one day seminar at Dak Banglow Rajouri in which various scholars, poets and intellectuals presented their papers highlighting contribution of Inqulab in various fields.
Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Prof Irshad A Hamal was chief guest on the occasion while former MLC Choudhary Gulzar Ahmed presided over the function. MLA Choudhary Zulfikar Ali, MLC Sham Lal Bhagat, former Speaker and Member Parliament Mirza Abdul Rashid were special guests on the occasion.
In the seminar titled “Faiz Hussain Inqulab – personality and contribution”, various intellectuals viz Nazir Qureshi, MN Qureshi, Abdus-Salam Bahar, Ameer Mohammad Shamshi, Dr Rashid Qadri, Parvaiz Malik and Manzoor Usmani presented their papers.
All of them highlighted the contribution of Faiz Hussain Inqulab in the field of poetry, social work and freedom struggle and paid a glowing tribute to the great personality.
Director SR College of Competition Sajjad Mir provided support in successful conduct of the programme.
It is pertinent to mention here that born in backward village Panihad of tehsil Budhal, Rajouri district, Faiz Hussain Inqulab died on January 12, 1975 at the age the young age of 49 and had taken part in the freedom struggle of India and contributed a lot for social, educational and cultural development of Rajouri and Poonch.
Meanwhile a cultural programme was also held in which poems written by Ayaz Ahmed Saif on Faiz Inqulab were presented by Saif along with Safder Hussain and Parvaiz Malik and party.
