CRPF ASI commits suicide

SRINAGAR, Oct 27:

An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) committed suicide by shooting himself in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, official sources said here today.
They said panic gripped in Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CRPF office at Baramulla when some firing shots were heard.
They said other CRPF personnel rushed to the spot and saw ASI Ravinder, who had recently joined his duties, in a pool of blood.
He was immediately rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Ravinder had shot himself with his service weapon, they said adding that it was not immediately clear why he took this extreme step.
Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings.
The incident took place about 24 hours after a soldier shot dead a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) in an Army camp in south Kashmir.
Taking extreme step among the security forces engaged in counter insurgency has not stopped even after authorities introduced Yoga and Art of Living to help them to come out from the stress. (UNI)
