GDC Bishnah organizes Painting Competition

JAMMU, Oct 28: The NSS Unit of GDC Bishnah organized a Painting Competition on the theme “Environmental Pollution” as part of the 10-days NSS Camp, under the Convenership of Prof Sunita Gupta and under the supervision of Dr Savtanter Kour, NSS Programme officer. Volunteers expressed their views regarding environmental issues and ways to conserve the environmental components through paintings.
An extension lecture on the topic “Environmental Conservation” was also delivered by Prof Preeti Dogra, HoD Environmental Sciences.
In her lecture she apprised the students about the various environmental issues faced by both the developed as well as developing nations as these issues do not recognize borders and are spread worldwide.
Principal of the College, Prof Kalpana Kesar was the chief guest on the occasion, who appreciated the efforts of the students.
Monika Kaith of B.A. Part-II, Nidhu Kaith of B.A. Part-I & Rajni Devi of B.A. Part-I were adjudged as 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively by the panel of judges including Prof Suman Charak, Dr Renu Gupta and Anshu Andotra, while the consolation prizes were bagged by Pooja Manhas and Anju Bala of BA Part-III.
