JAMMU, Jan 19: The mega cultural/literary contest- ‘YUVTARANG 2022-23’, organised by Department of Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ), entered Day-2 of Creative and Fine Arts Segment- ‘Sanrachna’, here today.
The event witnessed six events at Govt. College of Education Jammu, wherein students of constituent colleges and PG schools of the University participated in photography, painting, cartooning, clay modelling, mehandi and flower arrangement.
Prof Aekta Gupta, Principal of host College extended a warm welcome to the jury members and appreciated the efforts of the faculty and students in making the event a success. Dr Jatinder Khajuria , Registrar graced the prize distribution ceremony along with Dean Students Welfare, Deans of various faculties, Director Placement CLUJ and applauded the active participation of students towards making the contest more vibrant and meaningful.
The adjudicators for photography, painting, cartooning, clay modelling were Lalit Gupta (Former, Head, IMFA), Arjinder Kumar and Amarjeet Singh from IMFA, while Hemu Karki (Cosmetologist), Roopali Puri Sharma (Event planner), Dr Sonia Khajuria (Assoc. Prof) were the adjudicators for flower arrangement and mehandi contests.
In photography, Lovleen, School of Teacher Education secured Gold, Mavneet, GCOE bagged Silver and Arushi, GCW Gandhi Nagar secured Bronze medal, while in painting the top three places were won by PriyankaVerma, School of Sciences, Preeti Devi, School of Social Sciences and Iruvantika Gurung, MAM College, respectively and in cartoon making, Vrinda Bhagat , School of Humanities and Liberal Arts, Neeya Gupta, GCW Gandhi Nagar and Sahil Singh Manhas, MAM College stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In clay modelling, Rashmi Singh, GCOE and Deeksha Thakur MAM College stood 1st and 2nd, while Shallu Khajuria GCOE and Manshi Verma, GCW Gandhi Nagar shared 3rd place, while in mehandi competition, Komal Sharma, GCOE, Skyali Gupta, School of Humanities and Liberal Arts and Sakshi from School of Teacher Education won top three positions respectively and in flower arrangement, Kanchan Sharma, GCW Gandhi Nagar, Komal Sharma GCOE and Manjeet Kour GCW Gandhi Nagar bagged top three medals respectively.
