KV Jammu wins Inter-School debate competition

JAMMU, Oct 31: As part of its Vigilance Awareness Week celebrations, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Northern Region-II, Jammu organized a debate competition at BSF Sr Secondary School, here today.
The topic of the competition was “More Stringent Laws are required for promoting good governance in India” .
20 renowned schools across Jammu participated in the debate competition.
The debate competition saw all the speakers speak their heart out whether it was for or against the ‘Motion’.
SS Tomar IG BSG, Jammu Frontier was the chief guest, while SK Sharma, General Manager (I/C-Projects) Power Grid NR-II was the guest of honour.
The programme started with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.
The Principal of the School, Dr SS Kokhar presented welcome address.
Paramjit Singh Chahal, Vigilance Head Power Grid Northern Region-II gave a brief account of activities of Power Grid and its role in nation building.
The participating schools included Army Public School Muthi, Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab, Kendriya Vidyalaya Jammu Cantt., G.D.Goenka Public School ,Maharaja Hari Singh Agri Collegiate School Nagbani, Presentation Convent Sr. Secondary School, J K Public School , Heritage School, Army Public School Nagrota, K.C. Public School, Banyan International School, SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, Air force School Jammu ,Army Public School Satwari, Jodhamal Public Shool, Army Public School Akhnoor, MV International Public School, , K.C. International School, Delhi Public School besides host BSF Sr. Sec School.
Stanley Mathews, Chief Manager(HR), Power Grid and Neelika Arora , Assistant Professor Central University, Jammu were the judges of the competition.

Meanwhile, Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab, Jammu bagged 1st place as team, while Heritage School, Sainik Colony, Jammu and Army Public School, Nagrota claimed second and third spots respectively.
Sheetal Raina, Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab, Jammu; Ayush Sharma, Army Public School, Nagrota and Rajat Sharma, Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab, Jammu were adjudged best speakers.
