JAMMU, Jan 23: Dogra Sewa Sambhal Trust (DSST) members distributed blankets among the needy people by setting up camps at various places with the aim of public service.
On the occasion, Dogra Sewa Sambhal Trust president, Rajeev Sharma and members organised a program of blanket distribution at Trust, Head Office Gangyal in RS Pura-Jammu South Assembly constituency.
Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria was the chief guest and corporator, Anil Masoom was guest of honor. They distributed blankets to approximately 150 women.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Mayor, Jammu, Billawaria said that the aim of this camp is to provide blankets to the people who are in need and facing financial difficulties due to the cold weather. He also added that Dogra Sewa Sambhal Trust has been doing a great job in helping out the needy.
He further said that this initiative is a part of the larger initiative started by the Trust to provide assistance to those in need. He also mentioned that the Trust has been providing help to the poor, destitute and needy people in the form of food, clothes, medicines and other necessary items.
Deputy Mayor, Jammu also urged citizens to come forward and contribute to this noble cause. He said that the Trust is always open to receive donations in kind or in cash. He added that such charitable initiatives should be encouraged in order to provide a better life to the needy and poor people.
The members of the Dogra Sewa Sambhal Trust also expressed their gratitude to Deputy Mayor, Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria for his support and appreciated his efforts in providing assistance to the people. They also mentioned that the Trust will continue to do its best in helping the needy and destitute people. Ramesh Gupta, Puran Verma, Yash Raj, Ishar Singh Noni, Inderjit Kaur, Pitamber Sharma, Kulbir Kour, Randhir Singh and others were present.
