JAMMU, Feb 13: The 19th Senior National Roll-ball Championship-2023, organized by Roll-ball Association of Jammu and Kashmir was declared open at MA Stadium, here today.
The championship was declared open by JMC Mayor Rajinder Sharma as chief guest, which was organised in collaboration with J&K Sports Council and under the aegis of Roll-ball Federation of India.
About 750 players including men and women as well as officials from all over the country are taking part in the four days event.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the efforts of the J&K Rollball Association for conducting such a mega sports event in the city of temple.
After the opening ceremony, the matches were conducted in a very congenial atmosphere. The first match was played between Jammu and Kashmir (host team) and Assam was the main attraction of the show, wherein the J&K team won the match by defeating Assam by 4-3.
In boys section, Maharashtra defeated Uttar Pradesh by 6-3, while RSSA defeated Pondicherry by 22-10 and Gujarat trounced Gujarat by 7-2, whereas in women section, UP beat Pondicherry by 13-4 and Chhattisgarh defeated Madhya Pradesh by 5-1 during the championship.
