Media Art Associations form JAC to launch agitation against PBBCI

JAMMU, Nov 7: The DD artists, producers, directors and other people linked to media art today constituted a Joint Action Committee (JAC) to launch stir against  Prasar Bharati for its callousness towards the artists of J&K State.
JAC in its handout issued to press later said it is constrained to launch a mass movement against the callousness and insensitivity of Prasar Bharati Board and Doordarshan authorities, New Delhi for ignoring the long pending and genuine demands of thousands of people from the State associated with print media.
It said large number of members from media fraternity attended the meeting at Muthi to finalise the future course of action. The participants while expressing their concern over the attitude of PBBCI who they alleged was portraying a wrong picture before the authorities to dodge and belie the hopes and expectations of media art fraternity.
The participants decided to launch the agitation by resorting to dharna, hunger strike and court arrest till their demands are met.
The Association, which formed the JAC included J&K Media Art Association, Athwas Foundation J&K, Awaz Foundation J&K, Bhoo-Rang Foundation J&K, Film Makers and Artists Cooperative Limited, J&K, Creative Professional Forum and Television professionals United Forum.
Kusum Dhar president of Athwas Foundation was appointed as convener of JAC and its other members were K K Raina, Altaf Marazi, Javed Ahmed Khan, vinod Chopra, K D Kaul, Parvez Malik, Rakesh Pardesi, Sohail Kaul and Ajay Bharti. Pran Nath Pandita, Zameer Ashai, Ayash Arif and Pushkar Nath Pandita were appointed as advisors cum spokespersons.
