JAMMU, Nov 8: Government in compliance with the directions of the High Court dated 31.01.2013 and keeping in view the factual and rule position, rejected the claim of Ankush Chib, Rashid Ahmed Chowdhary, Verinder Singh, Varun Dev Singh and Vivek Bassan for their appointment against the post of Inspector in Police Department.
The claimants who have been appointed as the Sub Inspectors in the Police Department under-SRO 349 of 1998 for outstanding sportspersons, after joining had approached the High Court through SWP No. 236/2013-titled Ankush Chib and Others v/s State of J&K and prayed for their appointment against the posts of Inspectors retrospectively on the analogy of Sanjeev Khajuria.
After examining the rules, the claim of the petitioners for their appointment against the post of Inspectors analogous to Sanjeev Khajuria under-SRO 349 have been considered and found devoid of merit and accordingly rejected.
