POONCH, Nov 8: 2nd Shaheed DySP Manjeet Singh T20 Cricket Tournament concluded here today as LOC defeated Habib Club in an exciting contest by 1 wicket in the summit clash, here.
Earlier, LOC won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first, Habib Club Surankote scored 101 runs in 20 overs. Irfan top scored with 30 runs. For LOC, Firdous took 2 wickets for 25 runs, while Qazi took 2 wickets for 10 runs.
Chasing a victory target of 102 runs, LOC surpassed it in 19 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus won the match by 1 wicket. For LOC, Govil was the top scorer with 33 runs. For Habib Club, Bhatti took 3 wickets for 17 runs, while Nasir took 3 wickets for 26 runs.
Govil emerged highest scorer in tournament with 190 runs while Gurvinder remained highest wicket-taker with 9 wickets.
MLC Jehangir Hussian Mir was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while DDC Poonch Sajad Ahmed Khan and SSP Poonch Shamsher Hussain were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries lauded the efforts of Club in promoting sports in the district.
Meanwhile, Mohd Tariq Khan, chairman of the Club and organizing secretary, said, that the club is going to organize a volleyball tournament soon.
