JAMMU, Feb 20: A Dangal was organized by Mahant Rajinder Nath and Mahant Karan Nath at Peer Kho, here today.
Yudhvir Sethi, BJP vice president J&K was the chief guest of the event. He reiterated the commitment of Bharatiya Janata Party to improve sports infrastructure across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that sport is the key to a society with a healthy physique as well as a healthy mind.
Yudhvir Sethi also lauded the efforts of Mahant Rajinder Nath and Mahant Karan Nath for conducting such an attractive sports event in the area that has attracted huge gatherings of Dangal and other sports enthusiasts. He said that the local wrestling tournaments are no less than a festival for the people here who feel highly excited to witness the bouts between the wrestlers from different regions.
Sethi urged the youth to make sports an inseparable part of their daily routine in life. He assured that BJP will leave no stone unturned in improving the sports infrastructure to the highest level of excellence across the J&K Union Territory.
Earlier, Pahalwan Benia Bin of J&K Police lifted the Dangal title by defeating Pahalwan Major from Punjab. Peer Kho Akhara President Ramesh and ADC Jammu Satish Sharma were also present.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Tourism Department for supporting such events which promotes the taste of youth towards sports and games and also promotes brotherhood and communal harmony.
