Vivek, Gurdeep help Media CC to beat Superkings by 9 wickets

JAMMU, Feb 20: Captain Vivek Suri and Gurdeep wreaked havoc with the ball as Media Cricket Club crushed CBOA Superkings by 9 wickets in a night match, played at MA Stadium, here last night.
Gulshan Thappa, captain of CBOA Superkings won the toss and decided to bat first under lights but they had a nightmarish start as wickets started to tumble from the very beginning. Neeraj (37) and Sahib (15) were the only batsmen who succeeded to cross double figures, while the whole team was all out at 123 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
For Media Cricket Club Jammu, captain Vivek Suri was wrecker in chief who took 3 wickets, while Gurdeep Singh claimed 2 wickets and Rahul Khatri, Ashish, Abhishek Baru and Ritish shared 1 wicket each.
Chasing a modest total of 124 runs, the opening pair of Media Cricket Club Rahul Khatri and Vishal Manchanda gave a solid foundation of 58 runs before Vishal was out on 22 runs. Amit Kumar played some elegant shots which helped Media Cricket Club to chase the target in 13.2 overs.
Amit and Rahul scored unbeaten 32 and 26 runs respectively to the total. From the bowling side, Neeraj was the only successful bowler who bagged a wicket.
Vivek Suri, captain of Media Cricket Club Jammu was declared as man of the match for his brilliant bowling spell.
